The house
Recently built, designed for living outdoors.
Villa Badessa is a recent single-storey house surrounded by olive groves and dry-stone walls in Contrada Bochini. It is rented in full, to one group at a time: the pool, the garden and the view are yours for the whole stay.
Inside: three bedrooms, one en suite, two bathrooms with shower and double basin, a bright living room with exposed beams and a kitchen with island, properly equipped for cooking. Air conditioning throughout, wi-fi, bed linen and towels included.
Outside you have five thousand square metres of grounds to yourselves. The pool measures 11.5 × 4.5 metres, with a 3.5 × 3.5 relaxation area and a constant depth of 1.20 m: you can stand anywhere in it, which puts parents at ease.
The day moves to the covered veranda, to the sunbeds shaded by canopies and to the hot tub overlooking the valley. There is a barbecue, a large table for eating outdoors and private parking inside the property.

Location
In the countryside, close to everything
The house is surrounded by olive groves, with the coast visible at the end of the valley. At night it is dark and quiet; by day there are no neighbours on top of you.
You will need a car, and it is only fair to say so upfront: supermarkets, restaurants and Avola station are three kilometres away, the beaches five. In exchange you get real countryside ten minutes from the centre of Noto.
When to come
The year here
February — April
Almond blossom
The almond groves around Avola flower in late winter. Clear days for walking in the Cavagrande gorge and seeing Noto without the crowds.
May — June
The sea, without the queues
The water is already good at Vendicari and on the Avola beaches, and the coves are still empty. In May, Noto holds the Infiorata, its flower-carpet festival, ten minutes from the house.
July — August
High summer
Days in the pool, dinners on the veranda until late, patron saint festivals in the villages. This is peak season: book months ahead.
September — November
Grape and olive harvest
The sea stays warm into October. The Nero d'Avola grapes are picked, then the olives, and the baroque towns can finally be walked in comfort.
